[Mac] 64-bit updates FAQ
As of June 24, 2020, the following games have been updated on macOS App Store, Steam, Humble Bundle, and itch.io. We are working on updating GOG as well.
- Broken Age
- Day of the Tentacle Remastered
- Full Throttle Remastered
- Grim Fandango Remastered
#2 Can I still access the 32-bit versions?
The 32-bit version is not available in the macOS App Store.
Humble Bundle and itch.io have both versions available.
In Steam, right-click on the game in the Steam client and select Properties. From the Properties window, click the Betas tab, then enter this passcode:
- Broken Age Passcode: SugarBuntingWarrior
- Day of the Tentacle Remastered Passcode: TimeTravellingTentacle
- Full Throttle Remastered Passcode: BikeBlazingBen
- Grim Fandango Remastered Passcode: DaringDeadSalesman
The saves for Broken Age, Day of the Tentacle Remastered, and Full Throttle Remastered are compatible across 32-bit and 64-bit macOS.
The saves for Grim Fandango Remastered are not compatible between 32-bit and 64-bit macOS.
#4 Will you update your other games to work on 64-bit macOS?
We are still working on updates for our games on macOS computers. We cannot say which games or give a date yet, but they are in progress and we hope to provide an update soon.
#5 I'm on Steam and tried to install the 64-bit version, but I get an error telling me it's still 32-bit. What do I do?
There is a bug in the Steam interface that may cause the 32-bit version to install instead of the 64-bit version. Please try the following:
-Uninstall the game
-Switch to beta branch as outlined above in FAQ #2
-Install beta build, but do not launch it
-Install beta build, but do not launch it
-Switch back to the default beta
-Update the game, but again do not launch it within the Steam client
-Open the folder location for the installed app and run it directly
-The app should now launch from Steam correctly
-The app should now launch from Steam correctly
